Friday 13th November marked this year’s Children in Need; a day where the nation comes together to raise money and awareness for children across the UK. Children in Need are a BBC charity and their work focuses around ensuring that every child is safe, happy and secure. Their charitable work spans throughout the year, and their annual day sees celebrities and the public come together to support the cause.
At Incredible, we adapted this year’s fundraising to ensure that we could effectively raise money to help towards the cause by participating remotely. Due to the current climate, we held a combination of virtual events and events at our Head Office, all in aid of raising money for the cause.
Dress down for a pound!
For staff at our head office and those working from home, we urged them to dress down in a yellow or spotty article of clothing in return for a £1 donation. They sported extravagant t-shirts, shirts and trousers and pairs of Pudsey ears were worn throughout the organisation! Yellow outfits and spots-galore ensured that our outfits packed a punch.
Incredible’s Got Talent – Pudsey-style!
We also asked staff to participate in ‘Pudsey’s Got Talent’ in exchange for a £2 donation. Our talented team members came forward with their specialised talents and party tricks. People sent in photos and videos to showcase their Incredible talent, but only one participant could secure the golden buzzer and prize. Our Client Relationship Executive, Anthony Colduck, is no stranger to a microphone and his fantastic rendition of ‘Let There Be Love’ saw him crowned as our clear winner.
Make space for our duck race!
The Children in Need Duck Race proved to be yet again a great hit. We gathered on Teams to cheer on our ducks, in the hope that they would bag us the winning prize. Although over videocall, the air of competitiveness was still rife. We watched as the race took some unexpected turns, to finally reach the eventual winner, Quackman and Bobbin! This duck was backed by our Chairman, Darran Yates.
Thank you!
This year, Incredible managed to raise a grand total of £158 plus gift aid donations. We are extremely pleased with our efforts and are glad to have taken part in such a monumental day. Children in Need is a fantastic charity and we urge you to help raise money towards the cause.
We would like to thank our employees for their generosity and participation and we look forward to next year’s activity. Why not give it a go yourselves, and raise money for Children in Need.
